Understand and influence the NHS’s disease strategy with dmi

Manchester (3rd December 2007) – dmi (disease management indicator) unites two of the industry’s most powerful datasets to bring to market a unique and unrivalled strategic planning tool that will maximise the impact of market access decisions.

The dmi concept links Binley's data on NHS environmental information to disease burden and population with medical and prescribing interventions data from Impact Rx through DIN (Doctors Independent Network). The result – pure, unspun NHS data.

By putting together 'real' clinical, diagnostic and prescribing data from the patient records with environmental and financial data from the NHS, Impact Rx and Binley's are able to provide a comprehensive and holistic review of SHA performance.

This exclusive combination gives a 360o view of the way in which disease areas are prioritised, constrained by their managerial environment and treated in terms of interventions, diagnostics and prescribing. The different NSF modules give a powerful insight into the health economies of all 10 strategic health authorities (SHAs) and benchmark them against each other and the national performance. All of the information is categorised in NHS QoF (06/07) terms, so it maps directly against the customers' agenda and targets. Ultimately, this means that patient outcomes can be accurately tracked over time allowing the customer to understand and influence the NHS’s disease strategy and build solid foundations for their sales and marketing plans.

dmi currently covers 10 of the 17 QoF domains with further domains planned in the future. However, for many customers, one of the biggest attractions of dmi is the ability to request bespoke domains that are built specifically around their individual key areas and priorities. Backed up by a support team to make the adoption and integration of dmi uncomplicated and unintrusive plus the ongoing consultancy available to guide customers through the interpretation of dmi data, makes this the most powerful strategic planning tool available on the market today.
