The NHS and the New Government - 14th July 2010, Birmingham
02/07/2010
“The NHS will be backed with increased real resources but with this comes a real responsibility. We will need progressively to be more efficient, to cut the costs of what we do now, to innovate and re-design, in order to enable us to meet increased demands and to improve quality and outcomes.” Andrew Lansley CBE, Secretary of State for Health
With changes in the political landscape already underway, there is a mass of uncertainty surrounding the future of the NHS. What will be kept and what will be scrapped? How will the £6 billion efficiency savings be made?
More clarity is needed on proposed spending cuts, the outlook of current initiatives, structures and policies and what plans lay ahead; this workshop will help answer all these questions plus much more.
The afternoon event, being held at Austin Court in Birmingham on Wednesday 14th July, will be chaired by the industry renowned Roy Lilley. Delegates will have the opportunity to pose questions specific to their offering or industry, to the panel of speakers which includes Tim Rilley of Tameside and Glossop PCT and Alyson Brett of South East Coast Collaborative Procurement Hub.
During the afternoon workshop issues such as what’s likely to stay and what will go in the NHS, the impact on trusts, Payment by Results and World Class Commissioning, and the future of the NHS procurement landscape will all be covered.
